Fashion or function - What's your Story?
Do this? Ask a few people around you in the gym or your jogging park, “Why do you train?” The answer you are most likely to get is, “To lose weight” or “just have a decent body” or “look good in this dress/suit”.
Most fitness goals are usually fashion centric, how do we look or is the six-pack showing, rather than function centric, to possess a good disease free and well endowed physical constitution. A well defined and well rounded fitness regime would cater to improving the strength, stamina, endurance and functionality of your body, features that are applicable in your daily life. But as a result of your training and nutrition, the changes due to adaptation shall result into the fit, lean look that you are actually working for.


Most people start training with a strong desire to achieve “the look”. But when consistent effort doesn’t seem to bring about the desired change, they give up
What they fail to see is that their bodies have been adapting and improving strength wise, endurance wise and function wise.
They fail to see the improvements that will actually help in the long
run, improvements that they should have been working for in the first place, improvements that they are going to
forfeit, now that they have stopped training.
Moreover, when we tend to go through the workouts with only the end result in mind and without actually enjoying it, then the process becomes a routine, which in turn feels mundane. Most people get off here.
Truly speaking, in fitness, FASHION is nothing but the evolution of the FUNCTION. They are not two different things. The fashion, read goal, and the function, read path, are inseparable. It is the goal that is manifesting itself as the path. And the path that leads to the goal is nothing but an indicator of the nature of the goal itself. So, one who seeks the goal has to live a life which is to become a means commensurate with the nature of the goal. Simply put if you’re working towards LOOKING FIT then you might as well work towards GETTING AND FEELING FIT. This in turn will take care of your Fashion aspirations.
